Grand Island Senior High School (Nebraska)
Grand Island Senior High is the only high school in the Grand Island Public Schools (GIPS) system. It has had several buildings over its history. The official mascot is the Islander, a tall man in a tropical grass skirt.
==Current building==
The current building has been located on 2124 Lafayette Avenue since the 1950s. Originally the structure had four main wings, two gymnasiums, and an auditorium. In 1994, the City of Grand Island approved a major addition to the school due to an increasing student population. The addition, completed in 1997, included a fifth wing on the main floor, a sixth wing built above the fifth, a second cafeteria, and a three-court gymnasium.〔http://www.gips.org〕
